An audit is not always necessary and often can be expensive. Other engagements may give your organization the level of assurance it needs but be less expensive and time consuming. You can always contact our team directly to discuss the various types of attestation engagements that may fit your organization.
Reviews
A financial statement review service evaluates your company’s financial statements using inquires, analytical procedures, and knowledge of your business practices and industry. The scope is less intrusive than an audit, but provides a limited level of assurance that no modifications need to be made to your financial statement.
Compilations
A financial statement compilation service compiles financial data from your accounting records to present it in the form of financial statements. In a compilation, we do not critique the accuracy of information in the statement. It is less intrusive than a review, however companies benefit from having their financial statements presented by an external CPA, and banks often request this as part of their lending covenants.
If a review and compilation isn’t the right service for your nonprofit, you may want to consider auditing and attestation.
