Issaquah B&O Taxes FAQ

Does Issaquah collect B&O tax? Yes. 

Will I need to buy a business license if my office isn’t in Issaquah? Yes, if you engage in business activities within the city, you must get a business license and pay the B&O tax.

How long is the business license valid for? One year. 

When do I need to file? You are required to file the B&O tax returns on a quarterly basis (and pay the B&O tax with the returns).

How much is the B&O tax? The gross receipts B&O tax is based on gross receipts for the reporting period.  The current tax rates range from 0.08% to 0.10% of taxable gross receipts, depending on the classifications.

Are any businesses exempt? Businesses with quarterly taxable gross receipts of $5,000 or less are exempt from paying the Issaquah B&O tax in 2012.  However, such exempt businesses are still required to complete and file the returns by the applicable due dates.
